David Brewster`s director, Mr David Brewster, was born and brought up on a mixed livestock and arable farm in Angus. He has an Honours Degree in Agriculture and Business Management from Aberdeen University, is FBAASS and FACTS accredited and has a broad practical experience of livestock and arable farming in Scotland and overseas.
David worked for SAC for four years, initially in Caithness and Sutherland, and was then promoted to manager of the Kintyre and Mid-Argyll office. The experience gained there gave him an understanding of the realities of farming in environments with high running costs and inclement weather conditions and demonstrated the importance of finding profitable systems to operate in these environments.
To extend his knowledge, David then spent a year researching farming systems relevant to the Scottish industry, across Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He studied intensive and extensive farms including GM pigs, successful high input/high output dairy systems, a suckler cow unit with 750 cows per man and a sheep flock weaning 300% per year.
On his return to Scotland, David formed David Brewster.
